Short but Sweet

Posted : 10 months, 3 weeks ago on 11 January 2009 12:35 (A review of WarioWare: Smooth Moves)

Essentially the Warioware that was for DS execpt instead of Stylus driven control you use the Wii remote. The games are as crazy and wacky as the previous incarnation, but since the console version takes more development than the handleheld alot of content has had to be sacrificed. The few games that are on are really fun and make great party game but have little to no replay value. Budget price sequels would be extremley welcome but it's hard to see that happening. Could have been a really great game if it had the depth of the orginal DS version or that of even the console Mario Party games.

Didn't need improvements. But thanks!

Awesome upscaling of the orginal game. Retains all of the gameplay elements and great features of the first game and even eight or so years after the orginals release this Gamecube port only re-enforces that the game was truly ahead of it's time. Nothing has been changed in this remake and it features everything that was in the first but now the graphics are improved to resemble those of the Sons of Liberty. The voice acting has all been re-recorded in a studio enviroment giving it a far superior quality because it was recorded in a sound proof area. Aclaimed director Ryuhei Kitamura has took over duties on directing the cut scenes and all his dynamic style is present in them giving them new life and style. The new MGS2 gameplay elements are added which are welcome addition apart from in the inclusion of first person view which ruins some boss fights and challenges that were in the orginal version. Amazing for fans of the series and a great way for neophytes to catch up.

Definintive arcade fighter

Posted : 11 months, 1 week ago on 24 December 2008 04:34 (A review of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix)

The best version of Street Fighter II remixed in High Def to become the definitive version of Street Fighter II. The fight mechanic is on the ball retaining all of the moves and super combos and all the orginal 12 fighters (and the additional 4 and secret Akuma) are all playable and handle exactly as they should. The new redrawn 1080p characters and enviroments are amazing along with the newly recorded 5.1 channel mix of the music which sounds better than it ever has after being recorded on instruments in a real studio enviroment. The online matchmaking has been fixed from the previous online Street Fighters and works like a charm. The best 2D fighter around and probably the best fighter full stop a must own in any collection for some casual fights when with a friend.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty review

Posted : 11 months, 1 week ago on 23 December 2008 12:04 (A review of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty)

One of the best games ever made. The story in this game goes deeper further into the Metal Gear Mythos than the others did, really make sure you've played at least the first Metal Gear Solid before playing because if your missing out on story your missing out on the best part. The new game mechanics further show how smart and cutting edge this series is and you will not dare skip a cut scene (no matter how lengthy because the storyline is just too engrosing and epic to even miss a bit). You will be on your edge the whole way through and some set pieces are the greatest in any video game. Just when you think you know what's going on it'll all go on it's head with very clever story twists. Metal Gear Solid has the greatest story telling in any video which beats most films handsdown when it's at it's best. If there is one series that needs to played or infact experienced it's Metal Gear.

LittleBigPlanet review

Posted : 11 months, 1 week ago on 20 December 2008 12:40 (A review of LittleBigPlanet)

Silly fun this game is. The campaign mode is just a fun that's all it is just a really good time and even better the more you are playing with. But when you start messing with the tools and making your own stuff it becomes epic. There's tons of great levels you can instantly play and download from people who have way to much time and pushed the custimisation the extreme it's a community you must be apart of.
